Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs
The ministry was established in 1993 (Law No 9) to ensure that all areas of modern life comply with the principals of Islam and are consistent with the teachings of the Prophet – Peace Be Upon Him.
To achieve these aims, the ministry provides information and guidance to citizens and promotes Islam (Da’wa) at home and abroad.
Encourage people to attend their nearest Qur`an Recitation Centre to listen to recitals of verses from the Qur`an.
Ensuring that Imams, Muezzins and Preachers are able to successfully perform their sacred duties.
Increasing awareness of Islam amongst both Muslims and non-Muslims.
Improving spiritual development by promoting the manifold virtues of Islam.
Preserving Islamic heritage for future generations.
Communicating the messages of Islam to as many people as possible.
Building and maintaining mosques across the country.
Promoting Islam in Islamic and non-Islamic countries.
Distributing Islamic texts (Islamic Books Department).
Issuing tenders (Purchasing Department).
Employing staff (Human Resources Department).
Communicating with organisations in other countries (Islamic Relations Department).
Issuing visas to visitors to Qatar.
